Hello again!
So, I know the last time I wrote a blog, I had promised I wouldn't leave such a gap until writing the next one. Here I am, two months later. However, I have two reasons for that -1. the start of January wasn't very interesting and I didn't really have much to write about, and 2. then the end of January got a bit manic and I had no time.
I'm having a chilled evening after a busy day of dissertation-writing, so I'll give you a wee update on what's been happening.
The first thing that happened was I started my new job (two months early!). I applied for a job at Pillow Partners as a marketing assistant back in November, and I was successful, but they said they would wait until I was finished my dissertation - how kind āļø
Then in mid-January, I was in Edinburgh reuniting with Chloe after her travels to SE Asia, and then I got the phone call that they wanted me to start part-time, and then go to full-time when my dissertation is finished. I've been at Pillow Partners now for 1 month (happy 1 month to me š„°), and I'm loving it so far. This pic was taken when I was walking home last week š¤©
Gigs have been happening too, and I've been playing a lot with Ciar, and Laura Penman on keys. It's been great fun and we have a new ceilidh band forming š
Watch this space for the arrival of the Cranachan Ceilidh Band ā„ļø
This pic --> was at a recent ceilidh in Dundee for the Dundee Uni Trampolining Society.
We have a few gigs and weddings in the summer, it's set to be a fun one!
Lastly, but definitely not least (š¬), I've been manically doing my dissertation for my Masters degree. I'm nearing the end, with around 3600 words left (the total is 12,500, for reference!).
Interviews? Done. Analysis? Done. It's now time to write, write, write. I wrote nearly 2000 words today, so I'm feeling a sense of achievement and my brain is finally willing to let me relax for the evening before two days at work.
Anyway, the deadline is in mid-April, so don't be surprised if you don't hear from me for a while. Pic of the Northern Lights out the bedroom window at home, because they look better than my diss.
So, its a bit like spinning plates at the moment, whilst also trying to go to the gym and see all of my friends at the same time. Argh! I'll definitely deserve a weekend hibernating at home once my dissertation is handed in.
If you really want to help me out *wink*, I've still got a box or two of EPs to shift, and I've been very bad at trying to sell them recently. Ā£6 a pop plus a wee extra for delivery, support artists directly from them, because over the past year since I released my EP, I've made Ā£2.68 from streaming. Two. Pounds. Sixty-eight. Pence. Let that sink in. I'm always grateful for making a wee sale, I put my heart and soul into that thing.
Big love
E x
